IBIA Payment Provider Forum meets with SPA to discuss joint operations in Brazil

The IBIA Payment Provider Forum, represented by co-chairs Ari Celia (Pay4Fun) and Marcelo Bueno M. Carneiro (Banco Z.ro), held an important meeting with the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) in Brasília. The objective was to introduce the board and seek to join forces to improve payment integrity and compliance efforts in the iGaming sector throughout Brazil.

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) represents more than 70 companies and 140 betting brands globally, generating over US$300 billion in annual sports betting revenue.

The Payment Providers Forum was created earlier this year by companies providing financial transaction services to the sports betting and online gaming industry in Brazil. It is comprised of Pay4Fun, Vpag, OKTO, OneKey Payments, and Banco Z.ro.

The meeting with the SPA aimed to formally introduce the Forum, showcase its growing role in supporting the Brazilian regulated market, and explore how closer collaboration with the SPA can enhance payments integrity and compliance efforts across the country.

Among the topics discussed are:

- The Forum’s strategic focus on combating illegal betting

- How financial institutions are working together to block payments to unauthorised operators

- Opportunities for information-sharing, joint workshops, and stronger enforcement alignment

IBIA is proud to have facilitated this cross-sector initiative — bringing together payment providers, regulators, and licensed operators in the fight against betting-related crime - and welcomes the important role being played by the Forum's members.
