Recently, the company that holds financial control over the brand—also responsible for BateuBet and EsportivaBet—issued a farewell notice to its customers:
Hanz.bet.br informs that it will cease operations on July 31, 2025.
Until that date, the site will remain active solely for players to withdraw their balances. The registration, deposit, and gaming features are disabled. We thank all our users for their trust and partnership throughout this journey. If you have any questions, please contact our support team.
Following this announcement, founder Eduardo Peres shared his version of events on social media to explain the reasons behind the crisis and pointed directly at EA Entertainment and Sports Ltd.
“We have been operating in this market for over three years and, frankly, this is the first time we have witnessed something like this. With the arrival of regulation, we found ourselves exposed under a license where, unfortunately, the partner holds financial control. Even with signed contracts, their enforcement depends on legal proceedings, which, as everyone knows, take time—meanwhile, serious damage is already being done,” Peres stated.
According to him, clients are severely affected and unable to access their funds: “We are facing an extremely delicate situation: customers are worried and unable to access their money, a brand is being shut down without consensus, and immeasurable damage is being caused not only to us, but also to users and the industry's reputation.”
Full statement from Eduardo Peres to industry partners and colleagues:
“Out of respect for everyone who is part of this industry—which we have proudly participated in for many years, even long before any form of regulation — I decided to come forward and clarify the current situation involving the Hanzbet brand.
We’ve been operating in this market for over three years, and honestly, it’s the first time we’ve seen anything like this. With regulation taking effect, we became exposed under a license where, unfortunately, the partner holds all financial control. Even with signed contracts, enforcement requires legal action, which, as we all know, takes time—meanwhile, serious harm is already happening.
We were removed from the entire administrative and financial structure, including the board, without any prior discussion. Unilaterally, EA Entertainment and Sports Ltd., the company responsible for the license, announced the shutdown of the Hanzbet brand without our consent or involvement in that decision.
Furthermore, a notice was published on the website informing customers to withdraw their available funds. That alone already had a direct impact on operations. However, what’s more serious is that, at the same time, they removed the bank liquidity, making withdrawals impossible. In other words, clients were encouraged to withdraw, but those responsible made it impossible by emptying the funds.
At this moment, we are facing an extremely delicate situation: clients are worried and unable to access their money, a brand is being shut down without consensus, and immeasurable damage is being caused not only to us, but also to users and to the reputation of the industry.
We are documenting everything and will take the appropriate legal measures. We will proceed with responsibility, transparency, and respect toward everyone involved.”
