According to the club, the bidding followed transparency standards: all interested companies received in advance the minimum amount expected by Flamengo, which includes football, Olympic sports, and marketing investments in FlamengoTV, in addition to the commercial commitments between the parties.
Although the final amount has not been officially disclosed, Flamengo claims it is the largest partnership agreement in Brazilian football. With a minimum requirement of R$200 million (US$37m) per year, the agreement places Flamengo among the 20 largest sponsorships in world football.
In a statement, Betano said that it received Flamengo's positive response "with great honor and emotion. We recognize the historical importance of Flamengo and the responsibility of associating our brand with an institution of such reach and relevance in global sports."
