The Flamengo Deliberative Council approved this Tuesday (19) the new main sponsorship contract with Betano. The deal provides for annual payments of R$268.5 million (US$49m), plus variables, until December 2028. The vote count in the Council was 679 in favor, 11 against, and only 4 abstentions.
With Betano, Flamengo now holds the largest main sponsorship deal in the history of Brazilian football. On a global scale, the Rio de Janeiro club ranks ninth worldwide, ahead of some European clubs.
The Greek company won the bidding against other betting operators after a selection process organized by the club.
Betano’s logo will debut on the jersey on Monday (25), in the match against Vitória for the 21st round of the Brazilian Championship. The match will take place at Maracanã Stadium, Rio de Janeiro. Thus, the betting company will not be present for the second leg of the Libertadores round of 16.

Kaizen Gaming International, operator of the Betano brand, will pay R$ 268.5 million (US$49m) per year. The contract will last 40 months, running from September 2025 to December 2028.
The brand will be featured on the front of the men’s and women’s football jerseys, basketball, and volleyball, as well as on FlamengoTV and digital media activations.
In the first year, the sponsorship totals R$ 89.5 million (US$16.4m), with R$ 85.5 million (US$15.65m) to be paid as early as next week. The remaining R$ 4 million (US$730k) depends on sponsorships tied to tax incentive programs for basketball.
In the following three years, the annual fixed value will be R$ 256.5 million (US$47m), plus R$ 12 million (US$2.2m) for Olympic Sports, totaling R$ 895 million (US$164m) throughout the contract.
The deal will yield R$ 5 million (US$915k) per year for the club’s YouTube channel, Flamengo TV. In total, the channel will receive R$ 16.6 million (US$3.05m). Flamengo TV features interviews, broadcasts, entertainment, and journalism.

Variable revenue from the Betano deal
Flamengo will receive R$ 10 (US$1.85) for each jersey sold featuring the Betano logo, in addition to the royalties the club already receives from Adidas and the fixed amounts from retail stores.
Furthermore, each time a customer registers with Betano through Flamengo’s link, the betting company will pay R$ 65 (US$12) to the club when the first deposit is made—even if the deposit is less than R$ 65 (US$12).
For the first 100,000 registrations, Betano guarantees Flamengo R$ 10 million (US$1.85m). After that, the standard R$ 65 (US$12) per registration will apply once the first deposit is made.
The contract was originally set to begin on September 1. However, after meetings, it was agreed that the deal would officially start on August 20.
Flamengo also secured that, seven days after the start of the contract, the entire 2025 payment would be made upfront.
For the following years, half of the annual amount will be paid by January 10, allowing the club to use part of the funds in the first mid-year transfer window.
