The event also featured the presence and expertise of Fred Justo, former General Coordinator for Anti-Money Laundering Prevention at the Ministry of Finance, Integrity and AML consultant, member of the Brazilian Olympic Committee’s Fair Play Committee, postgraduate in Compliance and Government Relations, journalist, and specialist with extensive experience in investigating match-fixing in sports.
The training addressed practices for identifying and reporting match-fixing, highlighting the importance of each stakeholder’s role in preserving the credibility of competitions. The initiative is also aligned with a department created by Juventude at the beginning of the season, called the Integrity Unit—a permanent and strategic sector focused on preventing and guiding against potential behaviors that could undermine the values of sports.
Felippe Marchetti highlighted that “methods of match-fixing have become increasingly sophisticated, which makes it essential for everyone in the sports world to be prepared to recognize and report these practices. By investing in education and awareness, we help build a culture of integrity, where every participant in football becomes an agent in protecting the game.”
Fred Justo reinforced the relevance of the topic and the impact of the initiative: “Our mission is to protect and fight for fair play, because sport is the greatest tool for social inclusion. Protecting sport means protecting dreams. Sports integrity is not just a concept, it is a daily practice that requires vigilance and commitment. It is essential that everyone—athletes, managers, fans, and partners—understand their role in preserving the truth of sport and act responsibly to protect the game.”
For Bárbara Teles, Compliance Director at Stake Brazil, the initiative reinforces the company’s role as a reliable partner for clubs and athletes: “We believe that education is the foundation for ensuring a fair and sustainable sports environment. Juventude also emphasized the importance of the topic, and president Fábio Pizzamiglio spoke about the initiative: “I believe the presence of two such experienced speakers on the subject shed light on many issues, as sport has changed a lot in recent years.
