The State Secretary for Economic Development, Mila Corrêa da Costa, attended the ceremony and highlighted the important role of Loteria Mineira in the state’s economy. “Loteria Mineira is part of the system as a driver of economic development in the state, thanks to its work across the territory, contributing to the gaming and betting sector while fostering social development for the people of Minas Gerais,” she said.
Created in 1923 and considered the oldest in Brazil in the field, Lemg is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and overseeing activities related to gaming and betting in Minas Gerais.
“Loteria Mineira has contributed to the people of the state over the years. Our future goal is to continue increasing revenue so that our contribution to social programs becomes even greater,” emphasized Onésimo Diniz Moreira, General Director of Lemg.

“Our relationship with Loteria Mineira is very important. Today, with the betting and ‘bets’ market, which often does not inspire credibility among players, people in Minas Gerais look for reliable companies that show this commitment. That is the case of the partnership between CMSL and the Minas Gerais Lottery,” said Roberto Souto, CEO of Consórcio Mineiro da Sorte Loteria.
Contribution to sector regulation
During the first half of this year, Loteria Mineira joined a working group created by the Ministry of Finance to establish minimum rules for the sector.
Through collaboration with representatives from other states, the National Betting System (Sinapo) was created, establishing mandatory standards to be followed by lotteries and concessionaires.
In addition, a new identifying domain, “bet.br”, was launched and must be used in the websites of regulatory entities and companies operating in the sector, ensuring that bettors access legalized services.

Social allocation of funds and partnerships
Throughout its history, Loteria Mineira has allocated its resources to social projects in the state. One example is the construction of the Magalhães Pinto Stadium (Mineirão), inaugurated in 1965.
Between 2019 and 2025, Lemg raised R$ 219 million (US$40m), which was directed to numerous social projects and initiatives that generate jobs and improve the quality of life for the people of Minas Gerais.
Since 2001, Lemg has partnered with the Arte Miúda project, which transforms the lives of children and young people in Diamantina, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, through music, theater, visual arts, and dance.
“Our work is supported by Loteria Mineira through the use of a building that shelters many children transformed by art. We want to expand this work even further to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Soraya Araújo, Director of Arte Miúda.
