The workshop provided practical tools and specialized knowledge to foster a collective commitment to ethics and sporting values, reaffirming the importance of joint efforts to safeguard the integrity of competitions.
Sportradar’s Integrity Manager, Maximiliano Percovich, led the training, addressing relevant topics on the fight against match-fixing and the tools the company uses to investigate criminal practices. He also highlighted the legal implications in various jurisdictions regarding match-fixing, emphasizing the role of education in raising athletes’ awareness.
The opening ceremony was attended by APF President Robert Harrison and CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domínguez, along with national authorities and special guests, including Deputy Minister of the Interior Óscar Pereira.
The event also featured the participation of Paraguayan Olympic Committee President Camilo Pérez and Vice President Julio Ferrari; Guido Zelada, Director of High Performance and Federations at the National Secretariat of Sports; representatives of the Judiciary, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and law enforcement authorities; members of the APF Executive Council; representatives of the Association’s judicial bodies; and members of clubs from the First Division and Second Division.
Presentations were given by CONMEBOL’s Director of Ethics, Compliance and Integrity, Graciela Garay; CONMEBOL’s Head of Integrity, Jorge Ojeda; CONMEBOL’s Judicial Bodies Manager, Luis Gómez; and APF Integrity Officer, Luis Ayala.
With this type of initiative, CONMEBOL and APF reaffirm their commitment to continue working to promote transparency, ethics, and integrity as fundamental pillars for the development and credibility of South American and Paraguayan football.
