Loterj visits Clube do Bet and advances in the regulation of VLTs in Rio de Janeiro state

The president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, and the vice president of the agency, Fabíola Esteves, made an institutional visit to the headquarters of the operator Clube do Bet, in Niterói. Licensed by Loterj, the company has established itself as one of the main players in the legal online gaming market in the state. The goal is to advance the regulation of Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) through a specific standard presented by the entity.

During the meeting, Hazenclever emphasized that in the coming days, Loterj will present a specific regulation for Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) in Rio de Janeiro: “The era of amateurism is over. It's time for Rio to embrace its potential as a global reference in regulated gaming! Loterj will present clear, safe, and exemplary rules for VLT operations in the state.

"We are talking about modern regulation that ensures total control of operations, real player protection, and guarantees that the revenue collected returns to society,” said the agency's president.

Welcomed by Clube do Bet executives Marcelinho Calil and Pedro Viana, Loterj representatives had the opportunity to see the company’s structure up close, with an emphasis on the technology used, the customer service model, and the development of new products.

In this regard, Clube do Bet is developing a project to create VLT Stores and Sports Bars in various regions of the State of Rio. The goal is to expand the physical betting experience beyond the capital, with innovative spaces that reflect the identity of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the executives, negotiations are underway with equipment manufacturers and business partners to ensure these venues have “Rio’s identity.” “Rio will be the Brazilian Vegas,” they stated, reaffirming their commitment to a vibrant and attractive model for the public.

Vice president Fabíola Esteves praised the operator’s infrastructure and reinforced Loterj’s role in building a regulated environment capable of fostering economic and social development: “It was an extremely positive visit. Seeing firsthand how the company is investing in technology, compliance, and innovation shows that Rio’s model is on the right track: creating jobs, generating revenue for social programs, and ensuring player safety.

With VLT regulations soon to be announced, Rio de Janeiro is solidifying its position as a frontrunner in the new era of Brazil’s legal betting market, adopting a regulatory model that combines responsibility, innovation, and social impact.
