Among the supported initiatives is the Milk for Early Childhood Program (PAA-Leite), established by Law No. 14.628/2023. The program aims to fight food insecurity by distributing free milk to families in vulnerable situations, while also encouraging family farming and local production.
The program currently serves around 31,000 families across municipalities within the jurisdiction of the Institute for the Development of Northern and Northeastern Minas Gerais (Idene). The state agency contracts dairies and family farming cooperatives to ensure the delivery of up to 3 liters of milk per family per week, according to the logistics of each region.
“Each ticket sold for Trem das 11 or Raspadinha represents much more than entertainment — it becomes a direct investment in health, childhood, and the future of Minas Gerais,” said Roberto Souto, CEO of Mineira da Sorte Loteria.
“By allocating part of the proceeds from our games, together with the Loteria Mineira, we are contributing to actions that impact lives in a real and lasting way. This Golden August, we celebrate not only the importance of breastfeeding, but also the strengthening of public policies that support mothers and babies across the state,” he added.
In addition to promoting breastfeeding, Loteria Mineira’s investments also support initiatives focused on income generation, food security, professional training, housing, sports, and human rights.
The State Secretariat for Social Development (Sedese) is the main agency responsible for implementing these policies, overseeing the planning, monitoring, and supervision of the social projects made possible through lottery resources.
With this partnership, Minas Gerais is advancing in consolidating a public lottery model that combines innovation, social responsibility, and real impact on people’s lives — especially those who need it most.
