Copag brings Card Day to Paraisópolis and connects 100,000 residents with gaming culture

Copag will celebrate Card Day next Saturday (13) with a cultural initiative in the favela of Paraisópolis, the second largest community in São Paulo, home to more than 100,000 residents. The activity takes place in partnership with G10 Favelas, which has already transformed the lives of more than 6.7 million people through its social and educational programs.

Under the theme “Playing is our verb”, the campaign highlights playing as a form of cultural expression, identity, and belonging. The deck of cards stands out as a universal game, able to cross generations, connect people of all ages and backgrounds, and remain relevant across different social contexts.

Activation in Paraisópolis

The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring four themed areas:

- Freestyle Challenge – A freestyle soccer challenge that will put participants to the test with creativity, style, and plenty of ball artistry.

- “Learn to Play” space – A station where Copag will teach tricks and rules of different card games and board games.

- Truco tournament – A central competition with prize kits and live music led by a DJ.

- Painting workshop – Participants will reuse playing cards to create fun artwork, which will then be turned into exclusive keychains. The activity will be led by visual artist Filipe Grimaldi.

"The deck of cards is not just a game: it is a bridge to memories, talents, and new stories. It reaches all ages and profiles and always invites people to play together. This event is about creating bonds and celebrating our identity," said Mariana Dall’Acqua, VP of Marketing LatAm at Copag.

The initiative is part of Copag’s annual calendar celebrating Card Day, a date that pays tribute to the classic Baralho 139 and reinforces the importance of card games as a form of Brazilian cultural expression.
