GMB – What does the work being developed by Esportes Gaming Brasil mean in terms of compliance and regulatory adherence?
Ana Carolina Luna Maçães – It is an honor to be part of this project by Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil, which owns three brands: Esportes da Sorte, OnaBet, and LOTTU. Working on compliance and participating in regulatory matters places a great responsibility on us regarding governance, as well as topics related to sports integrity.
When it comes to integrity, we have an excellent partnership with Sportradar, from whom we use cutting-edge tools such as Integrity Exchange and the MTS system. We have been investing heavily in artificial intelligence and recently developed an in-house tool that monitors all transactions to identify potential suspicious operations related to money laundering. We are truly investing a lot in compliance and governance, as well as in technology, to bring the best practices we believe are ideal for the market.
Not only for the market and the Group, from a regulatory perspective, but also with a focus on the end user?
Of course. They need to know what is right and that they are being treated properly. I usually say that compliance is the invisible referee of the sector. It is not in the stands, but it ensures that everyone plays by the same rules. With that, we guarantee credibility for the industry through the trust users place in our platforms. That is why it is important to invest in this, and it is one of the reasons for the success of Esportes da Sorte as one of the leading brands in Brazil.
Has this been yielding results, and have users already noticed your concern with the issue?
I believe so. I understand that all these investments and ongoing compliance and governance practices, in addition to credibility, provide safety for the user. We can also see this as a way to fight against the illegal market, bringing bettors over to licensed operators.
More than just a seal and adherence to regulation, is this a way for Grupo Esportes da Sorte to show accountability to its users?
Yes. This investment in compliance, which we more strongly adopted starting in January of this year, is a way of telling our users that they are safe and in full conformity when using our platforms.
Is the development of this work continuous, or have you already reached the peak of what you need to offer the market?
This work is continuous and will never stop. We will always seek the best tools and systems, as well as compliance, to ensure the best possible experience for our clients.
