For the first time, women from different countries will come together on the same weekend to celebrate, compete, and strengthen their role in poker—both on and off the tables.
More than just a competition, the WPF Ladies Weekend represents a cultural and sporting milestone. It is an international movement combining poker tournaments with educational, social, and cultural activities, reinforcing women’s presence in the global scene and connecting players, leaders, and communities.

A global tournament across multiple cities
The WPF Ladies Weekend will be held in countries such as South Africa, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, the United States, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Nigeria, and Taiwan, with more locations to be announced soon. Each stop will be organized in partnership with national federations, local associations, and prominent clubs, ensuring the event is rooted in each community.
In Brazil, the Host will be Luana Borges, President of the WPF Women’s Committee and one of the leading voices of women’s poker in Latin America. The Brazilian stop will be staged at the H2 Poker Club in São Paulo, in partnership with the CBTH.
Other major confirmed venues include Resorts World Las Vegas (USA), Monte Casino Sofia (Bulgaria), Asia Poker Arena in Taiwan, and CT Poker Room in Cape Town (South Africa).
Beyond the tournament
The program at each stop goes beyond poker tables. During the WPF Ladies Weekend, players and participants will have access to workshops and lectures on strategy, leadership, and the poker industry, networking opportunities with leaders and top players, social initiatives benefiting local communities, and cultural activities that highlight the identity of each host country.
This combination turns the WPF Ladies Weekend into a complete experience that blends sports, learning, and celebration.
United States as a global showcase
In the United States, the initiative will be led by Lupe Soto, one of the most influential figures in women’s poker worldwide. Founder of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame and several global initiatives, Soto brings decades of experience in creating opportunities for women in the game. Under her coordination, WPF Ladies Weekend will host stops in California, Nevada, Texas, Maryland, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.
"Seeing women from all over the world unite in a single weekend to celebrate poker is inspiring. The WPF Ladies Weekend highlights talent, leadership, and female impact, creating connections that will resonate far beyond the tables," said Lupe Soto, Development Director of the Committee and Host of the U.S. stop.

Voices of the movement
"The WPF Ladies Weekend reflects exactly what we stand for: breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and amplifying women’s voices in poker. This event marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to building a global network where women can lead, inspire, and shape the future of the game," said Luana Borges, President of the WPF Women’s Committee and Host of the Brazil stop.
Spotlight on Europe
In Europe, leadership will be under Maureen Bloechlinger, Head of Europe for the Women’s Committee. Her mission is to consolidate women’s poker in Europe, ensuring stronger and more representative female presence across the continent.
The role of the WPF Women’s Committee
The WPF Women’s Committee is the driving force behind the WPF Ladies Weekend. Created to promote inclusion and female leadership, the committee organizes initiatives, events, and educational programs to strengthen women’s presence both in competitive poker and across the broader poker industry. The WPF Ladies Weekend is the ultimate expression of this mission, uniting local efforts in a global celebration.
An annual event
This is just the beginning. The WPF Ladies Weekend debuts in 2025 with the purpose of becoming an annual event, expanding the number of participating countries and deepening its programming each year. The goal is to ensure that more women gain access to poker tables, development opportunities, and the global support network created by the WPF.
The full program for each country, as well as updates on the next stops, is available on the official website.
