The representatives of Lotep were received by the president of Lottopar, Daniel Romanowski; Operations Director, Fábio Veiga; Technical Director, Rafael Halila Neves; and Acting Chief of Staff, Lucia Burzynski Bialli.
The executives of the authority detailed innovations such as the pilot project that uses artificial intelligence to monitor player behavior – developed by Jogo Seguro Software.
They also presented the integrated self-exclusion system across all authorized operators and the partnership with Public Security authorities to curb illegal gambling, through reports made via phone line 181 and the website www.denuncia181.pr.gov.br.
Lottopar’s board also highlighted projects carried out with football entities – such as partnerships with clubs and training at the Refereeing School of the Paraná Football Federation (FPF) to fight match-fixing – and explained the framework for each certification level of the World Lottery Association (WLA).
Lottopar is the first state entity to achieve the international Level II WLA certification, granted to institutions that implement effective player protection measures and prevent illegal or harmful practices.
In addition to learning about Lottopar’s structure, Lotep representatives also took a guided tour of an authorized operator and learned details of regulatory and supervisory procedures. “Lottopar has been sharing its results and best practices with other states, an initiative that reinforces its commitment to Responsible Gaming and the fight against illegal activities,” said Daniel Romanowski.
Lotep is an autonomous government entity created on April 2, 1955, and provides the public service of running lottery activities throughout the state of Paraíba, in line with federal regulations. Its mission also includes generating resources to fund welfare policies and programs in the areas of social assistance, sports, education, health, and social development.
Lotep is solely responsible for authorizing and overseeing lottery games and activities in its state. The authority also decides on the regularity of games, certifies results, and ensures compliance with legal accounting requirements across the state.
