“Alea is the aggregator with the most certified content and ready for Brazil”

At SBC Lisbon, Alea highlighted its global expansion and focus on regulated markets. In an exclusive interview with GMB, CEO Jordi Sendra emphasized the importance of Brazil, where the company has been operating since January 1st with the largest portfolio of certified content in the sector. Among the highlights are the Client Area and Alea Pay, an exclusive payment gateway. The aggregator is also preparing to launch a new product in November, aimed at both LatAm and Europe.

GMB - What are Alea’s highlights at the event, and what are your goals in being present at such a global event?
Jordi Sendra-
SBC Lisbon is one of the most important events in the industry. As you can see, it’s packed, and we are very happy.

The news we bring to this conference is, first, the redesign of the platform we offer our clients, where they can customize all the games, select the providers they want, manage the entire free spins system, and configure different RTPs for the games. We are also presenting Alea Pay, our payment gateway, which we offer exclusively to clients who take our content. It’s a product only available to them.

There’s a lot of artificial intelligence being applied in iGaming.
Yes, you’re a bit ahead there. We are applying artificial intelligence in different areas, and when it’s ready, we’ll launch it to the market. We see it as an opportunity for optimization, but we don’t want to lose human contact with our clients.

So, we won’t replace, for example, account managers or tech support with AI. What we are doing is creating tools for those teams, helping them manage their daily work more efficiently, while always maintaining human contact with clients.

Alea is one of the leading game aggregators in the global market. What is your position in the industry, and how many games and providers are under Alea today?
Our position is global. We are present all over the world, and particularly this year, we have entered regulated markets. We are in Spain, Romania, and perhaps the most important market due to recent regulation is Brazil.

We entered strongly from January 1st. It was a somewhat chaotic implementation, with many doubts and changes. Now in October, we will have new taxes. We are reacting as fast as possible. We have more than fifty providers and are the aggregator with the most certified and ready-to-go content for Brazil, for example.

In other markets, in Europe and Africa, we are also growing at very good rates, offering both local and global content that works across all markets.

And in Latin America, besides Brazil? There are businesses in Chile, Peru, which are regulating, Argentina, and also Colombia, which is considered the “mother” of iGaming in the region.
We are not yet in Colombia. We believe it is a rather saturated market, where only a few very large operators remain. So, for now, we don’t see an opportunity for an aggregator like Alea there. We are focusing on markets with much greater potential for us, such as Mexico.

We are also analyzing Peru, which regulated less than a year ago. We are moving into these markets, delivering content, and we are very happy with the results we are seeing.

And what are Alea’s plans for the coming months in the Latin American market?
We are working on a new product that I cannot reveal yet, but it will be for both Latin America and Europe and should be launched in November. So, very soon you will hear news from Alea.

And is it an aggregation product?
Yes, it is an aggregation product, built on top of our current platform, and I believe it will be very interesting both for providers and operators.

Innovation is the key word in the iGaming sector?
Yes. For me, the industry has a very good combination of innovation and the continuation of things that already work.

But definitely, new providers are emerging with systems to increase player retention, generate more engagement, and innovation is clearly present in the industry. We are a clear example. We launch new products and, as I mentioned before, this new product we are releasing in November, I believe it will be very positive. And it will be for the whole world.
