The event fostered opportunities for networking, learning, and business. At the SBC Summit Lisbon, Unico highlighted the strategic role of the Brazilian market and showcased to the world how identity verification has contributed to the growth of iGaming in the country — which, according to projections from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), is expected to rank among the four largest globally by the end of 2025.
“With the first months of fixed-odds betting regulation now in effect in Brazil, we’ve seen operators looking for providers that enhance the player experience — that is, those capable of ensuring security throughout the betting journey while also delivering speed and efficiency in the verification process. Meeting these requirements, we’ve witnessed dozens of brands migrating to Unico in recent months,” said Fernanda Beato, Executive Sales Director at Unico.
With 18 years of experience in highly regulated sectors and a strong network effect, Unico had already authenticated approximately 75% of bettors in the regulated market since the beginning of the year. Leveraging this expertise, 29 operators replaced their former KYC (Know Your Customer) providers with Unico in just six months.
The company’s IDCloud platform has reshaped the market by ensuring transparency, regulatory compliance, and security for operators and players alike, with highlights including:
* Facial biometrics identity authentication, preventing fraud and enabling secure, simple access to games;
* Document reuse, delivering a fast and seamless experience for bettors;
* A robust database, covering 99% of bettors, accelerating verification processes without compromising security;
* Full compliance with Law 14.790/2023, while also providing operators with insights to support better business decision-making.
At SBC Summit Lisbon, Unico also contributed insights and perspectives on sector development. Tadeu Arantes, Head of Sales Solutions, took part in the panel “KYC and Conversion: How Secure Identity Verification Can Engage More and Better Bettors”, alongside Evandro Ernani, Unico’s Engineering Director, and clients Fellipe Fraga, Chief Business Officer at EstrelaBet, and Hugo Baungartner, Chief Business Officer at Esportes Gaming Brasil.
