AMIG recognized with Silver award in the "Socially Responsible Initiative of the Year" category

AMIG – Women's Gaming Industry Association won the Silver award in the 'Socially Responsible Initiative of the Year' category at the SBC Awards 2025, held in Lisbon last week. The achievement is a milestone for the organization and directly reflects the impact of the booklet 'Responsible Gaming: Protecting You and Your Loved Ones,' recently released by the association.

Founded through the vision and courage of women who bet on real change (Ana Bárbara Teixeira, Ana Helena Pamplona, Bárbara Teles, Natalia Nogues, and Teresa Caeiro), AMIG was created to transform the challenges of gender imbalance into opportunities for female talent in the gaming industry.

In just over a year of activity, the association already brings together more than 1,000 members and has established itself as an active voice in the sector, promoting events, mentoring programs, workshops, and reference materials that positively impact the industry as a whole.

Winning at the SBC Awards represents international validation of this collective effort, and especially of the dedicated work behind the guide “Responsible Gaming: protecting you and your loved ones”, an unprecedented initiative designed to democratize access to prevention, support, and best practice information in the betting market.

The meaning of the award for AMIG

For the association, this recognition confirms that initiatives focused on social responsibility have space, voice, and relevance in a rapidly expanding sector.

Receiving this award at an event as important as the SBC Awards proves that we are on the right path. AMIG was born from the desire to transform realities, and this international recognition shows that our message is being heard. This is just the beginning of the change we want to see in the gaming sector,” said Natalia Nogues, AMIG founder.

The gaming industry is vibrant and full of opportunities, but we know barriers remain when it comes to inclusion and diversity. The Silver Award reinforces that our initiative is not only necessary but also inspiring for the entire market. We are proud to show that when women unite, the results are transformative,” highlighted Teresa Caeiro, AMIG founder.

This recognition is not only for AMIG, but for all women who dared to defy the odds and believe they have a place in this industry. We want this award to serve as an invitation for others – people, companies, and institutions – to join us in building a fairer, more balanced, and responsible ecosystem,” affirmed Bárbara Teles, AMIG founder.

The guide that gave voice to social responsibility

The highlight of AMIG’s victory at the SBC Awards was the creation of the guideResponsible Gaming: protecting you and your loved ones”. The material was collaboratively developed by AMIG members, bringing together diverse expertise to deliver an accessible, practical, and educational resource on safe practices in the betting world.

Contributors to the guide include: Aline Malafaia, Ana Bárbara Costa Teixeira, Andréa Ueda, Eveline de Lucena, Fernanda Batistella, Flávia Pires, Irati Santos, Isabela Fernandes, Laura Morganti, Luizeanne Favero, Teresa Caeiro, and Victoria Cerioni.

The publication addresses everything from basic concepts to mental health issues, warning signs of gambling addiction, guidance on betting limits, and support contacts. All content is presented in simple language with examples and visual resources, making it accessible to both beginners and experienced players.

The goal is clear: to strengthen a culture of Responsible Gaming in Brazil, promoting a safer, more inclusive, and sustainable environment for all.

SBC Awards and the commitment to innovation

The SBC Awards are among the most prestigious global honors in the gaming and betting industry, recognizing companies, projects, and leaders that stand out for innovation and positive impact. By including categories dedicated to social initiatives, the event reinforces that the industry’s future depends not only on financial results but also on responsibility, diversity, and inclusion.

AMIG’s recognition with the Silver Award symbolizes the strength of a movement that connects gender equity, social responsibility, and innovation as inseparable pillars for the sustainable development of the sector,” added Ana Helena Pamplona, AMIG founder.

The future of AMIG

This achievement is not an endpoint, but a push toward new actions. AMIG plans to expand distribution of the guide, strengthen partnerships with companies and regulators, and develop new educational projects with even greater impact on both the Brazilian and international markets.

The goal is to ensure that more women can not only enter but thrive in the gaming sector, and that responsible gaming is understood as a collective commitment,” emphasized Ana Bárbara, AMIG founder.

An invitation to change

The Silver Award at SBC Awards 2025 represents every step taken by AMIG’s women and every initiative aimed at making the gaming market more ethical and inclusive. But it is also an invitation for the entire industry to engage in building a more responsible future.
