GMB – What were EGT’s objectives at SBC Lisbon?
Celina Guedes – We are partners with SBC at almost all the global events they organize. We always have a stand to showcase new products aimed at regulated markets. At this moment, we are presenting our VLTs certified for the Brazilian market, with more than 50 integrated and translated games. Our participation has been crowned with success.
We see “Brazil” highlighted on EGT’s displays. Does that represent the company’s commitment to increasingly embrace the Brazilian market?
Absolutely. We are 100% regulated, with a company established in the country and a fully Brazilian team, and we are getting closer and closer to local operators. With Loterj’s public notice, we are already in the Proof of Concept (PoC) process for our VLTs, aiming to secure regulation and start operating in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, in our digital line, we have nearly 120 certified games. So, our entire portfolio for the Brazilian market is fully prepared and ready to support our operator partners.

You mentioned Loterj, but we shouldn’t forget that EGT is also in Paraíba. Is that also a good market?
Without a doubt. We are already there, and soon our products will be operating in João Pessoa with our partners. We are very pleased with this moment for EGT, a major multinational company and one of the first to have regulated products for Brazil.
With almost 25 years in the market, having started in the land-based segment, what is your outlook for Brazil in terms of moving from online and VLTs to physical casino gaming?
We are very optimistic and working closely with regulators, providing them with information and technical specifications. As you mentioned, we began in the land-based world, and we have all the know-how, working with the best laboratories in the world, and having our products recognized and certified.
The product is 100% qualified and regulated. We work both with operators and regulators because it is important to deliver a product that is fully compliant to the consumer. This is crucial in a market still heavily impacted by illegal operations. Sharing our land-based experience and our strong focus on Responsible Gaming is beneficial to customers, operators, and of course, the government.

EGT has been working the Brazilian market with a lot of dedication. How was the process of adapting to regulation, and where do you stand today after nine months of formal operations?
I think the key word is flexibility, working hard and staying close to our clients, delivering technology. Our product is very flexible, and we always seek to adapt it to our partners’ needs. It has been challenging, but our clients are satisfied because they know that in the end, they have a state-of-the-art, regulated product in hand. We are 100% aligned with them, always supporting them. This is a true partnership.
Considering all that EGT has gone through in Brazil, do you believe this experience could facilitate entry into other Latin American markets? Is that part of EGT’s vision?
Yes. Having been in the industry for years, with more than 30 offices worldwide, we understand that each jurisdiction has its own culture, respecting different languages and beliefs, and we are prepared to adapt our products to each market. Just like in Brazil, we are present throughout LatAm, such as in Mexico—where we are among the top three—Panama, Colombia, and now expanding in Peru.
We are also in Argentina and in other continents such as Africa and Asia. We specialize in gaming, with worldwide know-how and credibility. Now, with a fully established operation in Brazil, we bring an additional edge.

What are EGT’s short-term plans to expand its presence in the Brazilian market?
There are many good things happening. The sleeping giant has awakened—and awakened strong, with great drive. We already have a business plan to bring many new developments, including additional services. Much more is on the way, and of course, we are waiting for the land-based segment, supporting regulators. We are very pleased with our results in Brazil, contributing to the economy, delivering services, and employing Brazilians.
Is EGT planning to launch games with Brazilian themes?
Absolutely. This is part of our plans and product catalog currently in development. Very soon, everyone will know what EGT has in store.
