"Zitro will transform more land-based games into online to offer both channels to the market"

As a major global player in the industry, Zitro was present at the SBC Summit Lisbon, where it presented two new games, King Fu Frogs and Cash Totems. In a conversation with GMB, Bryan Ortiz, CEO of Zitro Brazil, highlighted the success of the already established Legendary Swords and Fairyland Quest and the plans to transform land-based titles into online versions. The executive welcomed the regulation throughout LatAm for bringing more stability and clear rules to attract global players to the region.

GMB – What Zitro developments were presented at SBC Summit 2025, and with what objectives did you attend the event?
Bryan Ortiz – We are presenting two major new releases: King Fu Frogs and Cash Totems.

Cash Totems features a Viking or Indigenous totem theme, and the bonus is triggered by the Odin/Eagle accumulator, which gives players the chance to spin the jackpot wheel.

King Fu Frogs is the evolution of the famous Fu Frogs, with the three classic frogs and a new, larger frog—each with exclusive abilities such as multipliers, extra spins, and double reels. When the Big Frog comes into play, it enhances these features to deliver massive prizes.

One of our main goals in attending the trade show is to meet our clients in person and connect with new people. Today, with so many online meetings, face-to-face encounters are becoming rarer, making events like this perfect to strengthen relationships and build new connections in person.

What Zitro innovations or solutions are generating the most success this year?
Without a doubt, Legendary Swords (sword-themed) and Fairyland Quest (enchanted forest theme) are our most recent releases that are enjoying huge success. Both bring innovative mechanics and math models, with top-quality graphics that captivate players.

How do you assess the regulatory progress in Brazil and Latin America, and what impact do you think it will have on the future of the industry?
Regulation in Latin America is accelerating, with Brazil leading the way. Since 2025, the country has implemented a federal framework for online betting and iGaming, with clear licensing requirements, a 12% tax on GGR, strict KYC rules, player protection measures, and blocking of illegal operators.

Other markets are also evolving: Colombia has a mature and stable model, Peru recently regulated with a modern framework, Argentina is expanding at the provincial level, Mexico is under government pressure to modernize its regulation, and Chile and Uruguay are still debating regulation.

Greater stability and trust are expected, with migration toward licensed operators, transparency, and consumer protection. Clear rules attract global operators, raise standards of technology and responsibility, and stimulate investment in marketing and local content.

On the other hand, licenses, costs, and taxes put pressure on margins, demanding innovation and efficiency.

What are the main challenges companies face when entering or expanding in Latin American markets?
Expanding in Latin America is a great opportunity, but each country (and sometimes even states or provinces) has its own unique legal, cultural, and operational reality.

Some challenges include:

* Complex and varied regulation, with high costs for regional expansion;

* Unlicensed operators still capture a considerable share of players, requiring licensed ones to offer competitive bonuses, odds, and experiences;

* Regulators are tightening KYC, anti-money laundering, and Responsible Gaming requirements. Companies must invest in robust technology and efficient internal processes to maintain compliance without creating excessive friction for users;

* Content and communications must be adapted to local culture—what works in Europe doesn’t always fit in Latin America.

What are Zitro’s main plans or priorities for the remainder of 2025?
We are focusing on two major projects: creating games with innovative math models and high-quality graphics to delight our players and accelerating the transformation of our land-based games into online versions, thus offering both physical and digital channels simultaneously.
